Week 2 – AOS Resolution

by sixpackjourney on April 2, 2010

Well, I’ve successfully completed my second week of the AOS Resolution routine.  It’s a smoker!

I’m doing this at the intermediate level with as much weight as I can handle or find in my basement.

Here was today’s workout - Five Rounds:

  • 5x 80kg Dead lifts
  • 5x 24kg 2 bell clean and presses
  • 40 yard 80kg Farmers Walks
  • 30x 32kg swings

As I said at the start, this was a smoker!  I’m sure that my abs are going to be rocked over the course of the weekend and my long run tomorrow is going to be a killer.

My schedule this week is as follows: Resolution Part I on Monday, a fast 5K on Tuesday, Part II on Wednesday, a medium paced 5K with my son in the stroller on Thursday and of course rocking out Part III this morning, finally a long run tomorrow.

Following today’s workout, I headed up to the kitchen to put together a protein packed smoothy to rebuild and prepare of the day. My recipe is pretty simple:

  • 1 Cup of Almond Milk – Unsweetend
  • 2 Scoops of Chocolate Whey Powder
  • 1 Heaping Spoonful of Natural Peanut Butter
  • 2 Heaping Spoonfuls of Organic Flax Seed
  • 1 Banana
  • Enough ice to thicken it up

Just toss the milk in the blender, then fire it up and start throwing in the ingredients.  Add the ice last, and simply keep adding it until you are happy with the texture. It’s usually about 4 handfuls of ice for me.
