“Reset” Days
Yesterday was one of those reset days. I call them that because I feel like my body is just hitting the reset button. I was hungry all day and I felt like it just couldn’t eat enough.
I’ve committed to myself that I will only eat when I’m hungry, and I’m going to eat until full. So yesterday was a tricky day. Overall, I’m managing my food intake to be focused at dinner time. Yesterday didn’t quite work like that.
When I woke up, I wasn’t hungry at all which is pretty normal for me. I had a great dinner the night before with a huge salad, pasta and chicken. I felt great in the morning. At about 10am or so I started to get very hungry. I happened to be at home yesterday, so that worked out well. I put back a tall glass of V8 along with a banana and figured that would do the trick for a while.
About 30 minutes later, I was still hungry! So I ate two kiwi’s and cooked up some hard boiled eggs just in case. About 30 minutes later I was into the eggs and had two of those.
An hour or so later it was pita chips and some hummus, then a few more kiwi’s. All together, this seemed to cool things off for a bit and I didn’t really get hungry again until 4pm or so. At around dinner time I ended up just putting a ton of food back again! This time it was two more kiwi’s, one hard boiled egg, a huge salad, two servings of mushroom/chicken rice, one and a half chicken breasts, two servings of ice cream, some white cheddar gold fish and a kit-kat!
I normally don’t do the processed food stuff (kit-kat and goldfish) however they were in the house and I was still hungry!
After all of this, I felt a lot better. I woke up nice and early and started my day by sitting in our spa reading a book. After taking a quick shower before heading to the office, I weighed in and acutally lost weight from yesterday - go figure that out…
Anyhow, reset days seem to work well for me. Typically they are after a long trip or a group of unusually hard workouts. It is as though my body is telling me that I didn’t get enough of x,y or z and that it is demanding more nutrition. I’ll be watching carefully over the next two weeks to ensure that I am getting enough food on a daily basis to minimize these sort of days - I really don’t enjoy being hungry all day.
Anyhow, overall I’m felling great. I can see and feel my muscle growth and the fat is starting to really come off. My clothes are beginning to become a bit to large which is a great feeling.
